Light Plumbing Services – a Safe & Reliable Choice for Those Little Things that Keep Dripping!

Since formally launching our Light Plumbing Services a couple of months ago, we have delivered simple and affordable general plumbing solutions to multiple clients.

During our initial assessment conversations with clients, all it takes is to provide enough information for them to decide if their issue at hand is something that they want to handle themselves. If they do, then we have provided clear value and we are all happy. If they do not, then they know that we are here at their service when they’re ready.

For instance, below are the causes to 3 quite common light plumbing problems that we are contacted about:

P/ My sink faucet drips continuously.

The constant melody of drip, drip, may not only be extremely annoying, but it wastes water. You won’t be losing thousands of litres of water, but when left unchecked, it will drive up your water bill. Dripping faucets are a common plumbing problem that most people have gone through. The most common culprits of a dripping faucet are damaged or broken washers in the tap, which on a regular day will form a watertight seal. However, over time they can dry out or become damaged, and which causes the water to leak through.

P/ My not-so old toilet is running all day.

A running toilet happens when water from the tank flows into the bowl continuously. Eventually, this will cause the water level in the tank to drop too low, triggering the float to restart the water and top up the tank repeatedly. The most common causes of this constant flow would be a worn-out or faulty flapper valve letting the water through, an unbalanced float or a fill tube that has come loose.

P/ A pipe under the kitchen sink is leaking.

Seeing a puddle of water pooling under your kitchen sink can signal to most people a significant problem. Depending on how long the pipe has been leaking, it could be a costly repair.

Leaks most often occur around the joints of your pipes and can create a mess both before and during the repair. Depending on the origin of the leak and how old your pipes are, it can become a bigger problem if it is not fixed properly and right away. You might require some disassembling of your drainpipes.

These things are relatively simple to fix at home usually with repair kits and certain safe knowledge of plumbing; but again, only if you feel you know what you are looking at and how to do it properly. Incorrect installations and repairs could cause new and more severe issues.
